PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT
When you visit the Site, we automatically collect certain information about your device, including information about your web browser, IP address, time zone, and some of the cookies that are installed on your device.
Additionally, as you browse the Site, we collect information about the individual web pages or products that you view, what websites or search terms referred you to the Site, and information about how you interact with the Site. We refer to this automatically-collected information as “Device Information.”
We collect Device Information using the following technologies:
- “Cookies” are data files that are placed on your device or computer and often include an anonymous unique identifier. By using the Site, you agree to us placing these sorts of cookies on your device and accessing them when you visit the Site in the future. For more information about cookies, and how to disable cookies, visit http://www.allaboutcookies.org.
Note that Some of the cookies we use are essential to make the website work properly and enable you to shop online. Without these your experience of our website would be very restricted.
There are four main types of cookies – here’s how and why we use them:
(1) Site functionality cookies – these cookies allow you to navigate the site and use our features, such as “Add to Basket” and if available “Add to Wishlist”.
(2) Site analytics cookies – these cookies allow us to measure and analyse how our customers use the site, to improve both its functionality and your shopping experience.
(3) Customer preference cookies – when you visit the site, these cookies will remember your preferences (like your language or location), so we can provide a more personalised shopping experience.
(4) Targeting or advertising cookies – these cookies are used to deliver ads relevant to you. They also limit the number of times that you see an ad and help us measure the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns.
- “Log files” track actions occurring on the Site, and collect data including your IP address, browser type, Internet service provider, referring/exit pages, and date/time stamps.
- “Web beacons,” “tags,” and “pixels” are electronic files used to record information about how you browse the Site.
To prevent data from being used by Google Analytics visit this link Google Analytics Opt-Out.
In order for our business to function effectively, we need to work with a number of external companies such as Royal Mail for postal deliveries, Mailchimp and Zoho for electronic communications including sending out email communications to you.
Additionally when you make a purchase or attempt to make a purchase through the Site, we collect certain information from you, including when given your name, billing address, shipping address, payment information (including credit card numbers, these are stored by our payment processor Stripe, via Shopify), email address, and phone number. We refer to this information as “Order Information.” This information may be passed to our accountants if requested. If you complete your details during the checkout process but don't complete your purchase, you might receive a cart reminder email from us reminding you that you left something behind. In this email we ask if you experienced any problems during the checkout process so we can identify and rectify any issues on our site. If you call us to place an order over the phone, the ‘order information’ will still be processed via the site.
HOW DO WE USE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?
We use the Order Information that we collect generally to fulfill any orders (including processing your payment information, arranging for shipping, and providing you with invoices and/or order confirmations). When we post your order we usually place the invoice within the package, as such, if you use a different shipping address to your billing address the invoice will usually go to the shipping address (unless you specifically request that we don't place the invoice with the order; and while we will always try our best to accommodate requests, we can't make any guarantees).
Additionally, we use this Order Information to:
Communicate with you; Screen our orders for potential risk or fraud; and When in line with the preferences you have shared with us, provide you with information or advertising relating to our products or services.
We use the Device Information that we collect to help us screen for potential risk and fraud (in particular, your IP address), and more generally to improve and optimize our Site (for example, by generating analytics about how our customers browse and interact with the Site, and to assess the success of our marketing and advertising campaigns).
