This Privacy & Cookie Policy describes how your personal information is collected, used, and shared when you visit or make a purchase from www.silverfireuk.co.uk (the “Site”).

In order for our business to function effectively, we need to work with a number of external companies such as Royal Mail for  postal deliveries, Mailchimp and Zoho for electronic communications including sending out email communications to you. 

Mailchimp; collection of personal data via sign-up forms, or when giving your consent to receive our newsletter/marketing at the time of placing your order, and storage of personal data within our MailChimp account allows us to create and use distribution lists, send marketing email campaigns, and occasionally place online advertisements. Zoho also provide the site’s online custom order forms. Zoho stores and maintains files, documents and emails at their facilities in the United States. Additionally when you make a purchase or attempt to make a purchase through the Site, we collect certain information from you, including when given your name, billing address, shipping address, payment information (including credit card numbers, these are stored by our payment processor Stripe, via Shopify), email address, and phone number.  We refer to this information as “Order Information.”  This information may be passed to our accountants if requested. If you complete your details during the checkout process but don't complete your purchase, you might receive a cart reminder email from us reminding you that you left something behind. In this email we ask if you experienced any problems during the checkout process so we can identify and rectify any issues on our site. If you call us to place an order over the phone, the ‘order information’ will still be processed via the site.  

HOW DO WE USE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?

We do not sell or otherwise share personal information about you, except as described in this Privacy Policy. 

We use the Order Information that we collect generally to fulfill any orders (including processing your payment information, arranging for shipping, and providing you with invoices and/or order confirmations).  When we post your order we usually place the invoice within the package, as such, if you use a different shipping address to your billing address the invoice will usually go to the shipping address (unless you specifically request that we don't place the invoice with the order; and while we will always try our best to accommodate requests, we can't make any guarantees). 

Additionally, we use this Order Information to:

Communicate with you; Screen our orders for potential risk or fraud; and When in line with the preferences you have shared with us, provide you with information or advertising relating to our products or services.

We use the Device Information that we collect to help us screen for potential risk and fraud (in particular, your IP address), and more generally to improve and optimize our Site (for example, by generating analytics about how our customers browse and interact with the Site, and to assess the success of our marketing and advertising campaigns). 

SHARING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

We only share your Personal Information with third parties to help us as described above.  For example, we use Shopify to power our online store. Shopify is located in Canada and the United States, and therefore the data that we collect from you may be transferred to, processed and stored at, a destination outside of Europe, namely the U.S.  Your data is stored through Shopify’s data storage, databases and the general Shopify application; you can read more about how Shopify uses your Personal Information here:   https://www.shopify.com/legal/privacy

As well as using Shopify to process our payments, when you place an order on the site you can choose to Pay by PayPal. PayPal’s privacy policy effective from 4 Feb 2021: https://www.paypal.com/uk/webapps/mpp/ua/privacy-full

In addition to our payment processors we use fraud detection services services Signifyd.  When a customer places an order on the site Signifyd immediately syncs the order details and reviews the order for fraud. The app also includes Signifyd’s device fingerprinting solution which enables the collection of device and browser data points to uniquely identify and track devices that transact on the site. This allows us to quickly identify and block known bad devices, allowing legitimate orders and customers through. They provide a detailed analysis for each order placed. We may also share your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other lawful request for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.

Targeted Advertising

Like most online businesses, we may collect information about your online activities for use in providing you with advertising tailored to your individual interests.   This section of our Privacy Statement provides details and explains how to exercise your choices.

You may see certain ads on other websites because we sometimes participate in advertising networks.  Ad networks allow us to target our messaging to users through demographic, interest-based and contextual means.  These networks track your online activities over time by collecting information through automated means, including through the use of cookies, web server logs, web beacons and other technologies.  The networks use this information to show you advertisements that may be tailored to your individual interests. This can sometimes include Facebook Custom Audiences and  and Facebook Lookalike Audience (Where you are a registered user of Facebook, your email address is used in an encrypted format to match with your Facebook profile so that we can provide you with personalised advertising on Facebook and/or to find other registered users of their services that share similar interests to you based on information that we observe about you from your interactions with our services, and the information Facebook holds about you).  Please note that such activity is subject to the privacy choices you have elected to make on Facebook. INFORMATION SECURITY

SilverfireUK is committed to taking appropriate measures designed to keep personal information secure.  This includes having a SSL certificate (added layer of security to our online store by using HTTPS instead of HTTP) it’s a security protocol that creates a safe connection between a server and a browser to keep your information secure. Our online store powered by Shopify is level 1 PCI-DSS Compliant. While we take efforts to safeguard our information systems, no website, mobile application, computer system, or transmission of data over the Internet or any other public network can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.

 

DATA RETENTION

When you place an order through the Site, we will maintain your Order Information for our records unless and until you ask us to delete this information. 

MINORS

The Site is not intended for individuals under the age of 18.  

ACCEPTANCE
