At Silverfire, we design and manufacture heirloom-quality, unique alternative jewellery directly from our artisan workshop in the Sussex countryside. The Origin Story & Craft (The Lost Wax Process)

SilverfireUK is an independent, family-run British jewellery business built on the preservation of ancient craft. Instead of stamping pieces out of thin sheet metal, most of our signature creations are born through the ancient Lost Wax Process. 

  • Hand-Carving: Every original concept begins its life as a raw block of specialist jeweller's wax. We meticulously carve the features by hand, allowing us to achieve incredible, structural depth and detail that machines simply cannot replicate. 
  • The Burnout (The "Lost Wax"): The hand-carved wax model is encased in a plaster-like mold and heated in a kiln. The wax evaporates completely, leaving behind a hollow ghost of the design.
  • The Transformation: Molten solid 925 sterling silver or gold is poured into the void, capturing every single hand-carved texture.
  • The Hand-Finish: Once cast, we sand and polish by hand and we apply deep oxidised patinas to make the details, shadows, and contours truly pop.

While our hearts belong to the dust and flame of our Sussex casting workshop, we know that jewellery lovers appreciate variety. To complement our signature hand-cast pieces, we also offer a carefully selected range of standard stock. We do not produce these items, nor do we blindly source them. Every piece in our standard in stock range is personally vetted by us for exceptional structural quality, weight, and finish. If a design doesn't meet our strict standards for durability and alternative style, it never makes it onto our shelves.
