Our gorgeous Daisy Wheel Witch Earrings are handmade from solid sterling silver at our Sussex workshop and are approx 17mm diameter, making them substantial amulets. Featuring the daisy wheel symbol, also known as the Hexafoil, a six-lobed flower design with rich symbolic meaning. The silver is oxidised in places to enhance the detail of the "flower of life" and create a more aged look.
The meaning of the Daisy Wheel - Hexafoil symbol
The Daisy Wheel is a well known Witches' mark considered as a ritual and protective symbol that has been found in many historic buildings, including old churches, and it's also been discovered in caves. The symbol has been found carved into woodwork and above entrances, doorways and fireplaces. It's thought to protect inhabitants from evil spirits. It's also considered by many Wiccans to be a sun motif. When scaled down into metalwork for jewellery, the daisy wheel functions as a wearable shield to banish darkness and protect the wearer's personal energy.
