Substantial handmade Daisy Wheel Witch necklace crafted in solid sterling silver at our Sussex workshop, and is approx 24mm diameter, making the pendant a substantial amulet and protective talisman. Featuring the daisy wheel symbol, also known as the Hexafoil, a six-lobed flower design with rich symbolic meaning. The silver is oxidised in places to enhance the detail of the "flower of life" and give a more aged look.
The Meaning & History of the Daisy Wheel
The Daisy Wheel is a well known Witches' mark considered as a ritual and protective symbol. The mark has been found in many historic buildings, including old churches, and it's also been discovered n caves. The symbol has been found carved into woodwork and above doorway entrances, hearths and fireplaces. It's thought to protect from evil spirits. It's also considered by many Wiccans and Pagans to be a sun motif. When scaled down into metalwork for jewellery, the daisy wheel symbol functions as a wearable shield to banish darkness and protect the wearer's personal energy.
